Arsonists alumni Q-Unique can always be counted on to bring through the amped-up mic skills. The Brooklyn MC’s fourth solo project starts with the booming “Look Up In The Sky,” where he bigs up his rap-rock connections—“I’m tatted up and I’m on the road with Korn”—before signing off in superhero terms: “Capital Q, Brooklyn, look up in the sky!” The energy and intensity continue via a couple of collaborations with Ill Bill—the eerie “No Country For Old Men” and the dramatic, string-powered “Cult Leader & Capital”—along with the discordant modern borough shoutout “Brooklyn Stomp.”

A powerhouse of an underground collaboration, the Arsonists’ MC Q-Unique calls on the production services of former Fat Beats record store soldiers the Brown Bag Allstars to craft 10 steely hip-hop tracks. The opener, “And Everybody Say,” is a potent sub-two minute statement of intent, with Q spitting a straight-braggadocio resume over a thick, funk-infused beat. From there, he goes on to tackle the pitfalls of nostalgia on “No #Tbt” and humbly holds a mirror up to what his own legacy will be on the Jay Z-sampling “B4 I Fade Away.” Consider BlaQ coffee a modern boom-bap attack in all the right ways.

Q's second solo album following 2004's "Vengeance Is Mine", "Between Heaven & Hell" finds him refusing to concede to current trends by changing up his dense wordplay or ear for relentlessly rugged production. His storytelling verses tackle everything from pre-Giuliani NYC ("Crack Era") to small-time robbery gone bad ("Mr. Lopez"), while getting a hand from co-conspirators such as Ill Bill, Mr. Hyde, Jise, Slaine, plus Arsonist homies D Stroy and Freestyle on "Questions." This is music for people who still like their hip-hop grimy, and preferred Times Square with more peep shows and less Applebee's.

Featuring: Ill Bill, Slaine, DJ Eclipse, Psycho Realm, Cashis, Realm Reality, Mr. Hyde and Arsonists members D Stroy, Freestyle, Jise & Ching Production by: Necro, Q-Unique, Quincey Tones, Rob Flow, Lost Son and Q-Dog

Q-Unique's critically acclaimed solo debut, "Vengeance Is Mine", is considered by fans a classic.. With guest features by: ILL BILL, Goretex, DJ Eclipse, Swel, E Dot and Necro. Production on this 50 minute album is an all-star selection of East coast beatmakers. JuJu from the Beatnuts laces "Diamond in the Ruff" and "Me, That's Who." Necro is on point with "The Set Up," "The Ugly Place," "Canarsie Artie's Revenge" and "Father's Day" among others. Phase One handles "H to the C", Context blesses "One Shot," S Groove shines on "Nature of the Beast" and Q-Unique handles most of the rest of his album. Basically speaking, this is a high quality audio venture from start to finish. With so many sharp tracks, Q-Unique becomes the difference maker on turning songs from warm to blazing hot.

2018 will mark the return of the original Bushwick Bomb Squad! Legendary emcee crew, the Arsonists have announced a double-album release via Below System Records. On the sophomore release from this Brooklyn underground trio (surfacing here as Jise, Q-Unique, and Swel 79), the Arsonists continue to swim away from the mainstream, not in a calculated manner as some backpackers do to try to make a name, but because for these self-proclaimed hip-hop pyromaniacs, this is the only way to make their music. As a result, many hip-hop luminaries have taken notice, including the legendary Chuck D, who at one time quipped: "When you see a group like the Arsonists out there, they're better than what any major label has got." Living by KRS-One's immortal credo — "Rap is something you do, hip-hop is something you live".
